The purpose

The workbench is the workbench.

It is not a therapy room. Its human value, if any, comes indirectly through structure, wages, competence, belonging, accountability, and choice—not through diagnosing people or turning hardship into brand content.

The footwear service must stand on its own as credible customer-value work. The workforce pathway must stand on lawful pay, real supervision, demonstrated competency, portable evidence, advancement, and external transition. Peer leadership must carry actual authority rather than ceremonial visibility.

A planned Ohio nonprofit corporation and intended 501(c)(3) public charity, subject to legal, board, CPA, and filing decisions.

Earned income

Customer-value engine

Footwear care, B2B service, condition-graded resale, pop-ups, and other approved lanes tracked by program and cost center.

Mission lane

Peer and workforce pathway

Paid workforce progression, lived-experience authority, voluntary community connection, and transition toward broader opportunity.

What this is not

Shine & Revive is not clinical treatment, diagnosis, crisis stabilization, case management, medication management, or a footwear service billed as behavioral-health care. Participation may not be coerced through treatment, housing, benefits, recovery disclosure, or storytelling.

The design rule

Show the work. Protect the person. Tell the truth about the shoe. The shoe may be restored. The person is never staged as broken.
